A little information about the baby boomers and how they would like to help their children and grandchildren with home down payments. This information is based on a study that surveyed more than 1,000 baby boomers ages 45 and up. This study was conducted by Meredith Research Solutions for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate.

Fun fact: 1 in 5 baby boomers say that they have ALREADY loaned their child money, cosigned a mortgage, OR given a cash gift for a down payment on a home! Talk about great parents!


You might ask yourself, why are these baby boomers so willing to help their children with a home down payment? The answer is 75% say they believe owning a home is a good investment and 58% say they think it's still part of that good old' American dream.
